When I first started to really think about going to college, I had NO idea where I wanted to go. I know that I wanted to go to Youngstown State University like the majority of my classmates. Then I really thought about it and remembered how much I don't like being around tons of people I don't know or aren't comfortable around in the first place. So, going to an actual campus really didn't appeal to me, even though, now that I think about it, I might've actually liked it.
Don't get me wrong, though, I really do love online college! I think the flexibility is such a good idea and just being in an environment I am used to also helps with my concentration. In a class room I would typically feel uneasy and that people would always give me a look when I spoke and I really didn't like that. Now that I am here, on my laptop, I like the mystery! I just like being alone so I can concentrate and focus a lot easier, than in a room full of noise and laughter and whispering. In school my grades weren't awesome, but they weren't horrific, either. In college I feel I am doing 10 times better :) Yay!
I think a good way of making the classroom closer is to get together outside of class. Most everyone has a Facebook and even this blog is a good way to really communicate with one another! I realize that when people are outside of class, the last thing want to do is get together to discuss work, but it might not even have to be about that! They could simply get together once a week/every other week and just chat. That would make everyone more comfortable around each other :)
Happy Holidays to all!!
